IT'S BIGGER THAN US

Our pack has an even greater program thanks to the volunteers that serve on the Monticello District Committee. They provide amazing events to include Day Camp, Aviation Day, Aquatics Fun Day, and Apple Harvest each year. Scout Days have also been planned for Tom Sox baseball and UVA football. Plus they help organize the Christmas Tree Sales and Popnuts each year to help ensure scouting stays affordable for everyone.
The Virginia Headwaters Council (formerly Stonewall Jackson Area Council) provides staff support to Monticello as well as Valley, Southern, and Massanutten Districts. In addition to maintaining and running programs at Camp Shenandoah and operating the local Scout Shop, they provide added resources, keep us informed about what's happening on the national level, and coordinate even larger events such as the bus trip to World Scout Jamboree 2019 in West Virginia.
BSA National is the overarching umbrella for the program in the United States. They are providing insurance to the programs (which includes setting registration fees) and establish training requirements for leaders plus much more!
The World Organization Scouting Movement is a confederation of over 170 international scouting movements. The World Jamboree is just one example of the amazing program created by Robert Baden-Powell (commonly known as B-P) over a century ago.
