It's not about the popcorn and peanuts (no matter how yummy), but about gaining confidence, setting and achieving goals, and funding the adventures our Scouts want to do. There are lots of ways to win prizes along the way, plus... it means lower dues for our Pack to do all these other amazing things (buying rockets, derby cars, etc). And if we exceed our goal, we're creating an endowment to help ensure cost is never the reason a kid can't join in the fun with us!
When we're not in the middle of a national pandemic, this has been the one and only FUNdraising event that the CubScouts participate in. Show and Sell booths typically begin in August and have 2 hour shift sign-ups. When not working a booth, wagon-sales can be done. Once the weather cools, chocolate product orders can be placed. Take-order products arrive in November and prizes are awarded in December.
